Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) olive oil
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) black pepper
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) smoked paprika
- 113 g (4 oz) beef bacon, crumbled
- 60 g (1/4 cup) cream cheese, softened
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) garlic powder
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) maple syrup
- 5-10 ml (1-2 tsp) hot sauce (like sriracha or chili flakes, to taste)
- Chopped parsley or thyme, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking dish by lining it with parchment paper or applying a light coat of grease.
- Coat the chicken breasts with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, and place them in the prepared dish.
- Combine the softened cream cheese, lemon juice, and garlic powder in a small bowl, then stir until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
- Cook in the oven for 25–30 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
- As the chicken cooks, gently warm the maple syrup and hot sauce together in a small pan over low heat, stirring until well blended.
- Pour the warmed spicy syrup over the chicken right before serving. If desired, garnish with chopped parsley or thyme.
Notes
- Consider searing the chicken breasts in a hot skillet before baking for a crispier texture.
- Experiment with various hot sauce options to adjust the heat level to suit your preference.
- Enhance the dish by sprinkling shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese on top before serving.
