Description
A flavor-packed Korean BBQ classic that’s easy to prepare in an air fryer. Sweet and savory marinated chicken thighs make for a delightful meal.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 Korean pear (or apple/pear juice substitute)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tbsp gochujang (optional for spice)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by blending the Korean pear, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, avocado oil, and gochujang together until smooth.
- Coat the chicken thighs thoroughly in the marinade. Place the chicken in a glass container or zip-top bag and let it rest for at least one hour in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your air fryer to 385°F.
- Arrange the marinated chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 25 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
- To add a finishing touch, sear the chicken in a hot skillet until golden brown on the outside. Finish cooking using extra marinade for added flavor, cooking on low heat for about 8 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Plate the chicken, garnishing with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
Notes
For deeper flavor, consider marinating overnight. Ensure your air fryer is preheated for a nice sear.
