Description

A delicious marinade that enhances flavors and adds moisture to chicken, combining savory and sweet with a global twist.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • 1 tablespoon mirin (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, and lime juice in a mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk in honey, sesame oil, and chili paste if using.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and neutral oil.
  4. Taste the marinade and adjust the balance of flavors as desired.
  5. Add chicken to the mixture, ensuring an even coating. Marinate for 1 to 4 hours in the refrigerator.
  6. Remove the chicken from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels before cooking.

Notes

For best results, poke small holes in the chicken to allow more marinade to penetrate. Always pat the chicken dry before cooking for a better sear.
