- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sea salt (reduce to 1 teaspoon if salt is a concern)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked or sweet paprika
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked or sweet paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Blend the spices thoroughly using a fork until they are evenly mixed.
- Add olive oil to the spice mixture and blend well to create a flavorful oil.
- Let the chicken legs sit until they reach room temperature.
- Coat the chicken legs with the seasoning oil mixture, ensuring the entire drumstick is covered.
- Arrange the chicken legs in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 30 minutes on the middle rack of your oven.
- After 30 minutes, brush the legs with the oil that has gathered on the tray and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until crispy.
- Check that the internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees F before serving.
