Baked Chicken Parmesan is a comforting dish featuring tender chicken breasts coated in a crispy breadcrumb mixture, topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each chicken breast in the beaten eggs, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spray lightly with olive oil.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and top each chicken breast with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after baking before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
