Description

A comforting and hearty dish that combines crispy breaded chicken with rich marinara and melted cheese, bringing smiles to the dinner table.


Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into 4 fillets)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or Italian-style)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing the baking sheet)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or olive oil.
  2. Cut chicken breasts into four fillets and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare three bowls: one with flour, another with beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Dredge each chicken fillet in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Place the breaded chicken on the baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
