A comforting and flavorful baked chicken dish coated in homemade teriyaki sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, and ginger to create the teriyaki sauce.
  3. Place chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the teriyaki sauce over them.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then stir it into the remaining sauce in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

For enhanced flavor, marinate the chicken in the teriyaki sauce for at least 30 minutes before baking.
