Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness, season with salt and pepper.
- Set up a breading station with flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes.
- Dredge each chicken piece in flour, dip in egg, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the breaded chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and spoon marinara sauce over each piece.
- Top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
