Description

Delicious Chicken Teriyaki featuring tender chicken thighs marinated in a rich, savory-sweet sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (brown sugar works great)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil in a bowl to form the teriyaki marinade.
  2. Place chicken thighs in a large resealable bag and pour the marinade over, ensuring the chicken is well-coated.
  3. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours to enhance flavor.
  4. Preheat your skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove chicken from the marinade, reserving the liquid for later use.
  6. Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until cooked through and golden brown.
  7. Meanwhile, bring the reserved marinade to a boil in a saucepan, then reduce heat to simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  8. Drizzle this sauce over the cooked chicken and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a bolder flavor, add mirin or Sriracha. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to four days.
