A warm and comforting dish featuring tender chicken thighs smothered in a creamy sauce, served over fluffy rice.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1 cup white rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon thyme
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sear the chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, cover, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
- Stir in heavy cream and thyme, simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the rice according to package instructions.
- Serve the chicken and gravy over the fluffy white rice.
Notes
To enhance flavor, consider marinating chicken thighs with spices beforehand. Experiment with different herbs for variety.
