A creamy and satisfying pasta dish featuring Boursin cheese and fresh broccoli, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy evening meal.
Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your favorite shape)
- 1 head of broccoli, cut into small florets
- 5 oz Boursin cheese (garlic and herb flavor)
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons pasta cooking water (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Add the broccoli florets during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking time.
- Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving a little cooking water if needed.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream and Boursin cheese, melting and blending smoothly.
- Add the pasta and broccoli mixture to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Season with black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt to taste.
- If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
Notes
For added flavor, consider a splash of lemon juice before serving. You may also add toasted pine nuts or sliced almonds for extra texture.
