A rich and creamy Butter Chicken recipe infused with aromatic Indian spices, perfect for a comforting family meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened.
- Stir in the garlic and ginger and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned.
- Mix in the crushed tomatoes, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, and salt.
- Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
For best results, use boneless, skinless chicken breasts and adjust spice levels to taste. Serve with basmati rice or naan.
