  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (e.g., pecans or walnuts)
  • 1 cup butterscotch frosting


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the buttermilk and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda in another bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
  6. Fold in the butterscotch chips and chopped nuts, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the batter.
