Description

A flavorful blend of Cajun spices, tender chicken, and creamy orzo that makes for a comforting weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, diced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced chicken and season with Cajun seasoning. Cook until browned.
  3. Combine the onion, garlic, and bell pepper in the pot. Sauté until softened.
  4. Stir in the orzo and chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the orzo to become al dente.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a thicker consistency, allow the dish to simmer a little longer after adding the cream. Adjust seasoning to taste throughout cooking.
