Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (5 g)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (5 g)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (5 g)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of beef cheese (optional)
  • Dill pickle slices


Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  6. Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on the grill.
  7. Grill the chicken for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.
  8. Toast the whole wheat hamburger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes.
  9. Place a grilled chicken breast on the bottom half of each bun.
  10. Layer with a slice of Monterey Jack cheese, if using.
  11. Add a slice of tomato and a few lettuce leaves on top of the chicken.
  12. Add dill pickle slices as desired.
  13. Cover with the top half of the bun.
  14. Serve immediately.
