Ingredients
- – 2 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts (500g)
- – 1 cup Apple Cider Vinegar (240ml)
- – 1 large Egg
- – 1 cup Almond Milk (240ml)
- – 1 cup All Purpose Flour (120g)
- – 1 Tbsp (15 ml) Powdered Sugar
- – 1 tsp (5 ml) Paprika
- – 2 tsp (10 ml) Paprika
- – 1 tsp (5 ml) Black Pepper
- – 1 tsp (5 ml) Salt
- – Vegetable Oil for Frying
- – 4 Burger Buns
- – 16 Dill Pickles
- – 4 Slices Vegan Cheese
- – 1 Tomato sliced
- – 4 Pieces of Leaf Lettuce
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breasts into four portions and remove any unnecessary fat.
- In a medium-sized bowl, submerge the chicken in apple cider vinegar. Cover it and let it sit in the fridge to soak for 30-60 minutes or overnight.
- Take the chicken out of the fridge and pour off the vinegar.
- In a small bowl, mix the almond milk and egg until combined. Pour this blend over the chicken pieces.
- Place flour, powdered sugar, paprika, salt, and black pepper into a large ziplock bag. Seal it and shake well to blend the ingredients.
- Remove the chicken from the liquid mixture and place it into the bag with the flour mix. Close the bag and shake it to coat the chicken evenly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat or use a fryer.
- In batches, fry the chicken in the hot oil until it becomes golden and crispy, about 3-5 minutes per batch. Once done, transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Place vegan cheese slices on the warm chicken to melt.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing the chicken on burger buns with dill pickles, tomato slices, and leaf lettuce.
- Serve immediately and savor the flavor!
Notes
- Marinate chicken in apple cider vinegar for a tangy flavor and tender texture.
- Use almond milk in the batter for a creamy coating that crisps up when fried.
- Enhance the chicken’s taste with a mix of paprika, salt, and black pepper in the flour.
