Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) (450 grams) boneless chicken breast
- 1/2 pound (227 g) (225 grams) ground beef
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh ginger
- 1 medium head of cabbage
- 1 medium carrot
- 1 red bell pepper
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) cornstarch
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) (60 milliliters) chicken broth
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 green onions
Instructions
- Slice the chicken breast into thin strips.
- Finely chop the onion and garlic.
- Grate the ginger.
- Shred the cabbage.
- Peel and julienne the carrot.
- Slice the red bell pepper into thin strips.
- Slice the green onions.
- In a small bowl, mix the chicken broth and cornstarch until smooth.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef or lamb and cook until browned.
- Remove the ground meat from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Add the chicken strips and cook until browned and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the onion, garlic, and ginger.
- Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the cabbage, carrot, and red bell pepper to the pan.
- Stir-fry the vegetables until they are tender.
- Return the ground meat and chicken to the pan.
- Add the soy sauce and oyster sauce.
- Pour in the cornstarch and chicken broth mixture.
- Stir everything well and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Garnish with sliced green onions.
- Serve hot.
