Description
Discover how to make the most delicious chicken and gravy recipe that will leave your taste buds craving for more. Perfect for any mealtime!
Ingredients
- 454 g chicken breasts
- Salt, pepper, garlic powder
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) vegetable oil
- 3 tbsp (23 g) all-purpose flour
- 480 ml chicken broth
- 5 ml each of salt, pepper, oregano, and thyme
- 5 ml each of paprika, onion powder, garlic powder
Instructions
- Slice the chicken breasts lengthwise to thin them out. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to season them (I don’t measure precisely for this step).
- In a pan on medium-high heat, heat up 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Once hot, add 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and stir continuously until it forms a smooth mixture. Let it cook for a few minutes while continuing to stir.
- Pour in 2 cups of chicken broth and mix thoroughly. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir well, and once it starts to bubble, place the chicken in the pan.
- Ensure the chicken is submerged in the sauce, cover the pan with a lid, and reduce the heat to medium-low. Let it simmer for 12-15 minutes or until the chicken internally reaches 165 degrees. Mine was done in 12 minutes because they were quite thin.
- Tear the chicken into pieces and serve it on top of mashed potatoes! Enjoy! I’d love to hear if you give it a try.
Notes
- Marinate chicken in salt, pepper, and garlic powder for 30 minutes for enhanced flavor.
- Adjust sauce seasoning to taste with salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
- Thicken sauce by mixing cornstarch with water and stirring into pan until desired consistency.
