Description

A delicious homemade crispy chicken Caesar sandwich with a flavorful coating, creamy dressing, and fresh romaine.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken cutlets
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup regular breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup full-fat mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 baguette
  • 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Caesar dressing by combining mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, Parmesan, black pepper, and sea salt in a bowl.
  2. Set aside some dressing for the romaine lettuce.
  3. Flatten the chicken cutlets and season with sea salt and black pepper.
  4. Set up a breading station with three shallow plates: one with flour mixture, one with whisked eggs, and one with breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Bread each chicken cutlet by dredging it in flour, dipping it in egg, and coating with breadcrumbs.
  7. Fry the chicken cutlets for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Drain cooked chicken on a wire rack.
  9. Slice baguettes open and spread reserved Caesar dressing inside.
  10. Add a chicken cutlet and top with dressed romaine salad.
  11. Sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese on top.
  12. Serve immediately.

Notes

Double-breading the cutlets adds extra crunch. Keep an eye on oil temperature for perfect frying.
