Description
A delicious homemade crispy chicken Caesar sandwich with a flavorful coating, creamy dressing, and fresh romaine.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken cutlets
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup regular breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup full-fat mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 baguette
- 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
Instructions
- Prepare the Caesar dressing by combining mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, Parmesan, black pepper, and sea salt in a bowl.
- Set aside some dressing for the romaine lettuce.
- Flatten the chicken cutlets and season with sea salt and black pepper.
- Set up a breading station with three shallow plates: one with flour mixture, one with whisked eggs, and one with breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Bread each chicken cutlet by dredging it in flour, dipping it in egg, and coating with breadcrumbs.
- Fry the chicken cutlets for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain cooked chicken on a wire rack.
- Slice baguettes open and spread reserved Caesar dressing inside.
- Add a chicken cutlet and top with dressed romaine salad.
- Sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese on top.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Double-breading the cutlets adds extra crunch. Keep an eye on oil temperature for perfect frying.
