A comforting and delicious Chicken Parmesan dish that transforms simple ingredients into a flavorful feast.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Set up dredging station: one dish with flour, another with beaten eggs, and a third with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken breast in flour, shake off excess, dip in beaten eggs, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Place the browned chicken in a baking dish and spoon marinara sauce over each piece, topping with shredded mozzarella.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, bake the coated chicken without frying. Monitor oil temperature to prevent burnt crumbs.
