A comforting and hearty recipe for Chicken Philly Cheese Steaks featuring juicy chicken, sautéed bell peppers and onions, all topped with melted provolone cheese in warm hoagie rolls.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup provolone cheese (or cheese of choice)
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper and cook in the skillet until browned and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side.
- Remove chicken and let rest, then slice thinly.
- Add sliced bell pepper and onion to the same skillet; sauté until soft.
- Mix in sliced chicken back to the skillet.
- Place a portion of the chicken and vegetable mix on each hoagie roll and top with provolone cheese.
- Broil sandwiches until cheese melts, about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
