Description

A hearty one-pot meal featuring orzo pasta, chicken sausage, and broccoli, topped with Parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups orzo pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound chicken sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the orzo, broccoli, and chicken broth to the pot.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is cooked and the broccoli is tender.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, topped with Parmesan cheese.

For a creamy version, stir in a splash of cream or sour cream at the end.
