Description
A hearty one-pot meal featuring orzo pasta, chicken sausage, and broccoli, topped with Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 cups orzo pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the orzo, broccoli, and chicken broth to the pot.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is cooked and the broccoli is tender.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, topped with Parmesan cheese.
Notes
For a creamy version, stir in a splash of cream or sour cream at the end.
