Chicken Tinga combines shredded chicken with smoky chipotle chiles and aromatic spices, creating a delicious filling perfect for tacos, tostadas, or quesadillas.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breasts
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2-3 chipotle chiles in adobo sauce
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Tostadas or tortillas for serving
Instructions
- Boil the chicken breasts in a pot until cooked through. Shred the chicken and set aside.
- Sauté onion and garlic in the same pot until translucent.
- Add diced tomatoes, chipotle chiles, cumin, and shredded chicken.
- Season with salt and pepper, then simmer for about 10 minutes until heated through and flavors meld.
- Serve on tostadas, in tacos, or as a filling for quesadillas and enchiladas.
