Description

A comforting dish featuring seared chicken and egg noodles in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 2 cups egg noodles (or your preferred pasta)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (or reserved pasta water)


Instructions

  1. Season the chicken generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme if using.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate, cover with foil, and let it rest.
  4. In a pot of salted boiling water, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions (7-9 minutes).
  5. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Melt butter, then add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Pour in reserved pasta water or chicken broth to enhance flavor.
  7. Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet, coating in the garlic butter sauce and adding parmesan cheese if desired.
  8. Plate the noodles, top with sliced chicken, and garnish with parsley.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with salad or crusty bread.

Notes

Let the chicken rest after cooking for juicier results. Reserve pasta water for a creamier sauce.
