Description
A comforting dish featuring seared chicken and egg noodles in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
- 2 cups egg noodles (or your preferred pasta)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (or reserved pasta water)
Instructions
- Season the chicken generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme if using.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate, cover with foil, and let it rest.
- In a pot of salted boiling water, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions (7-9 minutes).
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Melt butter, then add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in reserved pasta water or chicken broth to enhance flavor.
- Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet, coating in the garlic butter sauce and adding parmesan cheese if desired.
- Plate the noodles, top with sliced chicken, and garnish with parsley.
- Serve warm, optionally with salad or crusty bread.
Notes
Let the chicken rest after cooking for juicier results. Reserve pasta water for a creamier sauce.
