  • 1 cup dill pickle juice (240 ml)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (120 ml)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60 g)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (15 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (1.5 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (3 g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (0.6 g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (0.6 g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (0.6 g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder (1 g)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of tomato

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in a resealable bag or container.
  2. Pour dill pickle juice over the chicken, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  3. Seal the bag or container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  4. In a shallow bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and baking powder.
  5. In another bowl, pour whole milk.
  6. Remove chicken from the pickle juice and pat dry with paper towels.
  7. Dip each chicken breast into the milk, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  8. Press chicken into the flour mixture, coating evenly on both sides.
  9. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  10. Fry chicken breasts in the oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  11. Remove chicken from the pan and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  12. Toast hamburger buns in a separate pan or toaster until lightly browned.
  13. Place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom half of each bun.
  14. Top each chicken piece with a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato.
  15. Cover with the top half of the bun.
  16. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Try using whole wheat buns for a healthier twist.
  • Add a slice of cheese on top of the chicken for a delicious melt.
  • Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for extra tenderness and flavor.
