Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup dill pickle juice (240 ml)
- 1/2 cup whole milk (120 ml)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60 g)
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (15 g)
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (1.5 g)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (3 g)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (0.6 g)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (0.6 g)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (0.6 g)
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder (1 g)
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 slices of tomato
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in a resealable bag or container.
- Pour dill pickle juice over the chicken, ensuring they are fully submerged.
- Seal the bag or container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, pour whole milk.
- Remove chicken from the pickle juice and pat dry with paper towels.
- Dip each chicken breast into the milk, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Press chicken into the flour mixture, coating evenly on both sides.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry chicken breasts in the oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove chicken from the pan and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Toast hamburger buns in a separate pan or toaster until lightly browned.
- Place a piece of fried chicken on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top each chicken piece with a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato.
- Cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve immediately.
