A delicious combination of crispy fried chicken coated in a sweet and tangy honey sauce, perfect for gatherings or cozy dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breast, cut into 1-inch thin chunks
- 4 large egg whites
- 3/4 cup cornstarch or substitute with Mochiko Sweet Rice Flour
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup honey
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk the egg whites until foamy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Whisk in cornstarch and water until well combined.
- Gently fold in the chicken, ensuring thorough coating.
- Heat three inches of oil in a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
- Fry the chicken pieces in two batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- In another bowl, mix the mayonnaise, honey, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
- Just before serving, toss the freshly fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
Notes
Cut chicken into uniform pieces for even cooking. Adjust sweetness of the sauce to taste.
