- 1 cup (240 ml) dill pickle juice
- ½ cup (120 ml) milk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup (120 g) flour
- 1 1/2 tbsp (23 ml) powdered sugar
- 2 tsp (10 ml) salt
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) ground pepper
- 1 tsp (5 ml) paprika
- 1 cup (240 ml) vegetable oil for frying, peanut preferred
Instructions
- Let the chicken breast tenders soak in the dill pickle juice for no less than 15 minutes. As they marinate, whisk the milk and egg together in a shallow dish.
- Mix the flour, powdered sugar, salt, ground pepper, and paprika until they are fully combined.
- Fill a heavy skillet or Dutch oven with vegetable oil and warm it over medium-high heat.
- Dip the chicken in the egg and milk blend, then coat it with the flour mixture. Repeat, making sure to press the chicken into the flour during the second coating.
- Once the oil reaches 350 degrees Fahrenheit, cook the chicken pieces in batches for about 5 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown.
- Place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil and enjoy with your preferred dipping sauce.
Notes
- Marinate chicken in dill pickle juice for up to 1 hour for a tangier flavor.
- Double dip chicken in egg, milk, and flour mixture for a crispier coating before frying.
- Ensure chicken reaches 165°F using a meat thermometer for safe consumption.
