Description

A delicious homemade version of the famous In-N-Out Burger featuring juicy beef patties, cheddar cheese, and fresh toppings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Cheddar cheese slices
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Onion slices
  • Thousand Island dressing


Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Form the ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached.
  4. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill until lightly golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom bun, adding lettuce, tomato, onion, and dripping with Thousand Island dressing.
  7. Top with the top bun and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier burger, add diced jalapeños or cayenne pepper to the beef mixture. Let patties sit at room temperature before cooking for even cooking.
