Ingredients

  • 2 pounds (900g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into chunks
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 (450g) packages thin spaghetti
  • 4 (425g) jars Alfredo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chopped fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) salt
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) onion powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon (8 ml) paprika
  • 1 1/2 cups (150g) shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups (480 ml) chopped broccoli

Instructions

  1. Collect all necessary components.
  2. Sprinkle the chicken with a bit of salt and pepper. Warm a large frying pan on medium-high heat. Introduce the chicken and cook until it’s no longer pink inside and the juices are clear, approximately 7 to 10 minutes.
  3. Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a boil. Cook the spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a firm yet tender consistency, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. At the same time, pour Alfredo sauce over the chicken; flavor with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, chopped onion, fresh basil, salt, ground black pepper, onion powder, and paprika.
  5. Allow the mixture to simmer; incorporate the shredded Parmesan cheese. Cook until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce clings to a spoon without trailing strings, around 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. Position a steamer basket in a saucepan and add water until just below the steamer’s base. Heat until boiling. Place broccoli in the steamer, cover, and cook until tender, about 2 to 6 minutes.
  7. Mix the steamed broccoli into the sauce.
  8. Drain the cooked pasta. Serve by placing pasta in individual bowls and topping with the sauce.

Notes

  • Try using whole wheat spaghetti for a healthier twist.
  • Add bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrients.
  • Sprinkle red pepper flakes or chili powder for a spicy kick.
