Description

Creamy Cajun Chicken features juicy chicken breasts in a rich cream sauce, infused with spicy cajun seasoning, creating a flavorful and comforting dish perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts (about 650g)
  • 1â…“ tablespoons cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup single cream (half and half cream)
  • â…“ cup chicken broth or stock
  • 40g unsalted butter
  • â…“ cup onion, finely chopped
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts lengthwise into cutlets and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. Season the chicken cutlets on both sides with salt, black pepper, and cajun seasoning, reserving about 1 teaspoon for later.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and a pinch of cajun seasoning, mixing well.
  4. Coat each chicken cutlet in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter until hot.
  6. Cook each floured chicken cutlet for about 3 minutes on each side until golden. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  7. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the pan, sautéing for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Carefully add the chicken broth to deglaze the bottom of the pan.
  9. Pour in the cream and add the remaining cajun seasoning, mixing well. Simmer for about 1 minute.
  10. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes until cooked through, spooning sauce over the chicken as desired.

Notes

For a spicier version, increase the amount of cajun seasoning. Pair with garlic bread or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
