Description

A comforting and easy slow cooker dish featuring chicken breasts cooked in a creamy ranch sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the ranch seasoning, cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth until smooth.
  3. Pour this mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. About 30 minutes before serving, shred the chicken while it’s still in the slow cooker.
  6. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve topped with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, mix in a tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with cold water towards the end of cooking. Fresh chicken yields better results than frozen.
