Ingredients
- – 2 chicken breasts, cut in half lengthwise (500 g)
- – Salt & pepper, to taste
- – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2.5 g)
- – 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
- – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil
- – 1 tablespoon flour (8 g)
- – 3 cloves garlic, minced
- – 1/2 cup chicken broth or vegetable broth (120 ml)
- – 1 cup heavy/whipping cream (240 ml)
- – 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (50 g)
- – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Slice the chicken breasts horizontally to create four thinner pieces. Generously sprinkle both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Add the olive oil and vegetable oil to a skillet on medium-high heat and allow the pan to warm up for a few minutes.
- Sauté the chicken for approximately 5-6 minutes on each side, ensuring it is well-browned and thoroughly cooked. Move the chicken to a plate and cover it loosely with foil to keep it warm (turn off the heat during this step).
- Turn the stove back to medium-high and add the flour and minced garlic to the skillet (ensure the pan is still hot; if not, let it heat up a little). Cook for about a minute, stirring frequently.
- Pour in the chicken broth and whisk until the flour dissolves and the liquid is reduced by half.
- Mix in the cream and let it simmer gently for a few minutes until it thickens to your liking (reduce the heat if it starts boiling rapidly). Remove the skillet from the heat and mix in the cheddar cheese until it melts into the sauce.
- Return the chicken to the skillet (along with any juices on the plate) and drizzle some sauce over it. Add more salt and pepper if needed and garnish with chopped parsley.
