Description
A tender chicken dish featuring a luxuriously creamy sauce balanced by zesty pepperoncini and garlic, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 cup sliced pepperoncini
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves fresh minced garlic
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat your skillet: Place the skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm for a couple of minutes.
- Brown the chicken: Add the chicken thighs or breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until a golden brown crust forms. Transfer the chicken to a plate once cooked through.
- Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
- Deglaze with broth: Pour the chicken broth into the skillet, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom. This step adds depth to your sauce.
- Add the cream and pepperoncini: Stir in the heavy cream and sliced pepperoncini. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, allowing it to thicken for about 3-5 minutes.
- Return the chicken: Place the cooked chicken back into the skillet, ensuring it is well coated in the sauce. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Season to taste: Finally, season with salt and pepper as desired.
Notes
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes and garnish with fresh herbs for an elevated presentation.
