A rich and comforting creamy tomato pasta, perfect for weeknights or lazy weekends, combining simple ingredients into a delightful meal.
Ingredients
- 200g pasta (spaghetti or penne)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 400g canned tomatoes (diced or crushed)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
- Pour in canned tomatoes and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until well coated. Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil and Parmesan if desired.
Notes
Reserve some pasta water to adjust sauce consistency if needed. Experiment with different pasta shapes or add sautéed vegetables for variety.
