Description

A healthier take on the classic Chicken Parmesan, prepared in the air fryer for a crispy finish without the guilt of frying.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil spray


Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture, coating it evenly on both sides.
  4. Lightly spray both sides of the coated chicken breasts with olive oil spray.
  5. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not crowding each other. Cook for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Once the chicken reaches a crispy texture, top each breast with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

For a crunchier texture, try using panko breadcrumbs. Marinating the chicken in olive oil and lemon juice adds extra flavor.
