Ingredients
- 4 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons baking powder (aluminum-free)
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Pat the wings dry completely with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and baking powder.
- Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
- Place the seasoned wings in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 4 hours to enhance the flavors.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) with the oven rack positioned in the middle-upper section.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set a wire rack inside. Spray the rack with non-stick cooking spray for easy cleanup.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack, skin side up.
- Bake for one hour, turning the wings every 20 minutes for even crispiness.
- Ensure the wings reach an internal temperature of 180°F when checked in the thickest part, avoiding the bone.
- Remove from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes. If desired, toss with your favorite wing sauce before serving.
