A delicious and crispy Parmesan chicken served with a rich garlic cream sauce, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
- In another dish, whisk together the eggs and water until well combined.
- In a third dish, mix together the Panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess.
- Dip the chicken into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Coat each breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure it adheres well.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in flour and cook for an additional minute.
- Gradually whisk in the chicken broth and cream, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove sauce from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once the chicken is done, serve it topped with the garlic cream sauce and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
For optimal crispiness, use Panko breadcrumbs and let the chicken rest after baking to keep it juicy inside.
