Description

A hearty and comforting stew made with creamy butter beans and tender okra, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 (12 oz) bags Frozen Okra
  • 28 oz Frozen Butter Beans
  • 1/2 lb Bacon, chopped
  • 1 Yellow Onion, chopped
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 2 cups Vegetable Broth
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Cajun Seasonings
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • Cooked White Rice for Serving


Instructions

  1. Chop bacon, onion, and green bell pepper.
  2. Add all the ingredients to the crockpot, starting with the frozen okra and butter beans.
  3. Pour the vegetable broth over the layers.
  4. Add butter and sprinkle with Cajun seasonings and garlic powder.
  5. Stir to ensure even distribution of all ingredients.
  6. Cover and cook on low for at least 5 hours.
  7. Serve over cooked white rice. Enjoy your hearty stew!

Notes

For a thicker stew, mash a portion of the beans after cooking. Adjust seasoning to taste.
