A simple and flavorful chicken dish with a delightful tropical twist, cooked effortlessly in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by placing the chicken breasts in the bottom of your crockpot.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Mix together the barbecue sauce, pineapple chunks, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder in a medium bowl.
  4. Pour the pineapple BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken in the crockpot.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Shred the chicken using two forks once cooked.
  7. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and mix it with the sauce.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped green onions.

Notes

For more flavor, consider marinating the chicken in barbecue sauce before cooking. Adjust the seasoning levels to your taste.
