Description

Discover how to make delicious and comforting Easy Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings with this simple recipe. Perfect for a hearty meal any day of the week!

Ingredients

  • – 1 1/2-2 pounds (680-907 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • – 1 medium onion, chopped
  • – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • – 2 teaspoons (4 g) dried parsley
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) seasoned salt
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (1 g) poultry seasoning
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (1 g) garlic powder
  • – 2 cups (480 ml) chicken broth
  • – 2 cans or boxes cream of chicken soup
  • – 8-10 canned, REGULAR size, biscuits

Instructions

  1. Position the chicken at the base of the crockpot, adding the chopped onion and vegetable oil. Sprinkle over with the dried parsley, seasoned salt, poultry seasoning, and garlic powder.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth and cream of chicken soup, then mix everything together thoroughly. Secure the lid and set the crockpot to cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  3. Once the cooking time is complete, take off the lid and use a spoon or fork to break the chicken into smaller pieces.
  4. Cut the biscuits into quarters and place them in the crockpot. Gently press the biscuit pieces down so they can soak up the gravy as they cook.
  5. Cover again and let it cook for another 1-2 hours on high until the biscuits are fully cooked and acquire a golden hue. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Consider using chicken thighs for a richer, more tender flavor.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or paprika for a spicy kick.
  • Opt for homemade biscuits for a fresher, personalized touch.
