Description
Delicious grilled chicken skewers coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- Bamboo skewers soaked in water for 30 minutes
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (or your oven to 400°F / 200°C).
- Thread the chicken cubes onto the soaked bamboo skewers, leaving a small space between each cube.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Whisk in the honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and brown sugar, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in 1/4 cup of water and stir into the sauce, continuing to cook until it thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Brush the thickened sauce over your chicken skewers.
- Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with more sauce until the chicken is cooked through and evenly charred.
Notes
For richer flavor, marinate the chicken in a portion of the sauce for at least an hour before threading. Serve with colorful vegetables for added flavor.
