Description

Learn how to make delicious Easy Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts at home with this simple recipe. Perfect for a quick and flavorful dinner everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • – 500g / 1 lb chicken breast, boneless and skinless (2 pieces) (454g)
  • – Salt and pepper
  • – 1/4 cup flour (60g)
  • – 3 1/2 tbsp (50g) unsalted butter (or 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil)
  • – 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • – 1 1/2 tbsp (23 ml) apple cider vinegar (or white or other clear vinegar)
  • – 1 tbsp (15 ml) soy sauce, light or all purpose
  • – 1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup) (80ml)

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken breasts horizontally to make four thin pieces. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Put the flour in a shallow bowl. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour, then shake off any extra.
  3. In a large frying pan, melt most of the butter over high heat, saving about a teaspoon for later use.
  4. Add the chicken to the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until it turns golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for 1 minute.
  5. Reduce the heat slightly to medium-high.
  6. Move the chicken to one side of the pan, add the minced garlic, and the reserved butter. Stir the garlic briefly once the butter has melted.
  7. Pour in the vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Mix the contents of the pan by stirring or shaking it, and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it simmer for 1 minute or until it thickens a bit.
  8. Coat the chicken with the sauce by turning it. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of water and mix.
  9. Take the pan off the heat immediately. Serve the chicken on plates and pour the remaining sauce over the top.
