A flavorful marinade that tenderizes chicken and adds vibrant Mexican-inspired spices for a delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 500 g boneless chicken breast
- ½ Tablespoon Chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- ½ Tablespoon Smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
- 1 Tablespoon fresh cilantro (finely chopped)
- 2 Tablespoons Lime juice
- ½ teaspoon Brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, brown sugar, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and olive oil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Take your boneless chicken breast and place it in a shallow dish or a zip-lock bag.
- Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken, ensuring an even coat.
- If using a zip-lock bag, seal the bag and gently massage the marinade into the chicken.
- Cover the dish or seal the bag and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (up to 24 hours for maximum flavor).
- Cook the chicken using your preferred method (grilling, baking, etc.) until it reaches an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C).
Notes
For optimal flavor, marinate for at least 2 hours; the longer, the better. Experiment with different acids for varied flavors.
