Description

A flavorful marinade that tenderizes chicken and adds vibrant Mexican-inspired spices for a delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 500 g boneless chicken breast
  • ½ Tablespoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • ½ Tablespoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tablespoons Lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon Brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, brown sugar, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and olive oil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  2. Take your boneless chicken breast and place it in a shallow dish or a zip-lock bag.
  3. Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken, ensuring an even coat.
  4. If using a zip-lock bag, seal the bag and gently massage the marinade into the chicken.
  5. Cover the dish or seal the bag and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (up to 24 hours for maximum flavor).
  6. Cook the chicken using your preferred method (grilling, baking, etc.) until it reaches an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C).

Notes

For optimal flavor, marinate for at least 2 hours; the longer, the better. Experiment with different acids for varied flavors.
