Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (about 1 oz)
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (optional, for slow cooker)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- For the slow cooker method, place the chicken breasts in your slow cooker.
- Sprinkle ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper over the chicken.
- If using, pour in the chicken broth.
- Dollop softened cream cheese over the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until chicken reaches 165°F.
- Remove the chicken, shred it, then return to the slow cooker and mix in the cream cheese.
- Stir in shredded pepper jack cheese and crumbled bacon, mixing until well combined and melted.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
- For the stovetop method, heat a large skillet over medium heat, add chicken breasts and cook for 6–7 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- Remove chicken and shred it.
- In the same skillet, add softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Incorporate shredded chicken, pepper jack cheese, and crumbled bacon. Mix until cheese is melted and everything is combined.
- Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
Notes
For a stronger kick, increase pepper jack cheese. Serve over rice, pasta, or baked potatoes for a complete meal.
