A quick and satisfying one-pan meal featuring juicy chicken and crisp-tender broccoli in a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and season with salt and pepper. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Add 1/4 cup of water and broccoli florets to the pan. Cover and steam for 2-3 minutes.
- Discard excess water, then reduce heat to medium-low and melt the butter.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook until aromatic.
- Add soy sauce and lemon juice, mixing well with garlic butter.
- Toss in red pepper flakes if desired for heat.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and combine with the sauce.
- Gently fold in steamed broccoli and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds and parsley, alongside rice or pasta.
