Description

Delightful tacos filled with tender chicken coated in garlic butter honey BBQ sauce, topped with fresh ingredients for a flavor-packed meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional, for heat)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • â…“ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite variety)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder in a bowl.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add the seasoned chicken, and cook for about 5-6 minutes per side until thoroughly cooked. Remove from skillet and let rest before slicing.
  3. Melt unsalted butter in the same skillet over medium heat, add minced garlic, and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in honey, BBQ sauce, and lemon juice, and let simmer for about two minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Slice or shred the chicken and toss it in the warm garlic butter honey BBQ sauce until well coated.
  6. Warm the tortillas in the skillet or microwave. Build each taco with shredded lettuce, saucy chicken, cheese, red onion, and cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately with lime wedges for garnish and enjoy!
