Description

Delicious tacos featuring tender chicken glazed with a smoky, sweet garlic butter honey BBQ sauce, served with fresh toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • â…“ cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until fully cooked and golden brown.
  3. Remove the chicken and let it rest before slicing or shredding.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in honey and BBQ sauce, simmer for 2 minutes until thickened.
  6. Toss the sliced or shredded chicken in the sauce until well coated.
  7. Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
  8. Assemble the tacos with lettuce, the saucy chicken, cheese, red onion, and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor; consider marinating the chicken for more intensity.
