Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces (450 grams)
  • 3 tablespoon (45 ml) s unsalted butter (42 grams)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) grated Parmesan cheese (50 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil (15 milliliters)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream (120 milliliters)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) red pepper flakes (optional )


Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  6. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  7. Stir in Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes, if using.
  8. Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet.
  9. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken and stir well.
  10. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine.
  11. Let the sauce simmer until it thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
  12. Stir in chopped parsley and basil.
  13. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
