Description

A quick and flavorful chicken dish marinated in miso and garlic, ready in just 25 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 8 boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp minced green onions
  • 2 tbsp white miso paste
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • Additional green onions and cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing the marinade. In a large bowl, combine the white miso paste, rice vinegar, mirin, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and minced green onions. Stir the ingredients until well combined.
  2. Add the boneless skinless chicken thighs to the marinade. Mix well using your hands or a spatula, ensuring every piece of chicken is coated.
  3. Transfer the marinated chicken to a baking tray or air fryer basket in a single layer. Pour any remaining marinade over the top of the chicken.
  4. Air fry the chicken at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Be sure to flip the chicken halfway through to promote even cooking and caramelization.
  5. After air frying, broil the chicken for an additional 2 minutes, allowing it to develop a beautiful crust and color.
  6. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. If necessary, baste the chicken with leftover pan juices to keep it moist.
  7. Once done, remove from the air fryer or oven, garnish with more green onions, and cilantro, then serve hot.

Notes

Allow chicken to marinate for at least 15 minutes for maximum flavor enhancement. Consider adding red pepper flakes for some heat.
