Description

Tender chicken thighs marinated in a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce, grilled to perfection on skewers.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • Green onions, cut for garnishing
  • Skewers


Instructions

  1. Soak the skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to simmer for about 10 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the chicken pieces onto the skewers.
  5. Brush the skewers with the teriyaki sauce and grill for about 5 minutes on each side, basting with more sauce until cooked through.
  6. Garnish with green onions and serve with extra teriyaki sauce.

Notes

Experiment with adding vegetables like bell peppers or onions in between chicken for added variety.
